The Assassinated Messenger

Imagine two armies lined up on the battlefield, prepared to spill blood and fight to the death. One on the left, one on the right.

However, with the hope of preventing needless bloodshed, a young, charismatic, and idealistic man steps forward to consult with the leaders of the army on the right. He insists that they must try to reason with the enemy, that common ground can be found, and that logic and debate can stop a war before it erupts.

And so, he leaves the safety of his allied forces and rides to meet the army on the left in order to parlay with them. But how is he greeted? By a single arrow that flies from the masses of the enemy’s position, striking him in the neck.

With the last voice who promoted peace through discord gone, the two sides rush into battle and clash head on, leaving a trail of death and destruction throughout the country.

If this were a story in a history book or fantasy novel it would be compelling and play on our thoughts and emotions. But this is not that, it is the reality of what we all witnessed today with the assassination of Charlie Kirk. We are at war, whether you want to accept it or not; and one of, if not our last, hope to find peace was struck down before our very eyes.

They hate you and want you dead. Prepare accordingly. #FindYourHill
