Realistic and Proactive
One thing that I feel gets overemphasized, in regard to training, is how much the “community” stresses formal military training, infantry roles specifically. While the basics are important and hold a place, it is imperative to understand that in most plausible scenarios, the average person would be more akin to an insurgent, rather than a soldier.
Instead of prioritizing the newest hot item, one’s time would be better used studying and emulating the practices utilized by the “under dogs” from past conflicts. People need to be realistic about what position they could be in. There would be no air support or artillery. No formal supply lines with a steady flow of resources. It would be cloak and dagger while relying on neighbors who could keep their mouth shut.
Use your time and money to purchase books that will expand your knowledge and skills; then practice those skills. Study your neighborhood and find how to maneuver through it undetected. Have conversations with your neighbors and spend time getting to know them. Better yourself and those around you. #FindYourHill
